Five Memorable Trips (3/5)

Continuing on the road down memory lane in fives….

3) Five Memorable Trips:

In reality, we’ve taken many trips– some of them not far away at all– that I classify as memorable.  Though, none have been taken this year (wow, not a single trip this year; what’s up with that?), we’ve had our fair share of good times away from home.

One: Washington DC

Our trip to Washington was amazing– there really isn’t any other way to put it.  I will say, having been six months pregnant at the time, that by the time we were done I was ready to write a travel guide detailing the location of every available ladies’ restroom in DC.

Two: Lake Austin Spa & Resort in Austin, Texas

A real dream come true, like the fairy tale kind.

Three: Apple Picking Trip in Flat Rock, North Carolina

A couple of years ago, we took a trip to go apple picking at Sky Top Orchard in North Carolina.  I can’t wait to go back some day.

Four: Brookgreen Gardens in Murrell’s Inlet, South Carolina

Much like our apple-picking adventure, I hope to find an excuse to make it back to Brookgreen Gardens in Murrell’s Inlet, SC someday.  It truly is a beautiful place.

Five: Blue Ridge Mountains: Asheville & Flat Rock, North Carolina

Like our trip to DC, the trip to the mountains– primarily Flat Rock and Asheville, NC– took place before the girl was born.  Unlike the trip to DC, I was not pregnant with the girl yet, so no guidebook to the restrooms of the Blue Ridge will be written by me.  I also have no blog post to refer back to this trip, since, well, there was no blog for me then.  We visited the Arboretum, the Parkway itself, and Carl Sandburg’s estate– Connemara.
